In addition to desiring an opportunity to serve the CYP community and accomplish the annual CYP agenda, CYP leaders possess the following leader criteria and also make the following CYP leader commitments.
We ask each of our leaders to support and encourage each other in our attempts to grow into the leader God created us to become.
CYP Leader Criteria
- Faith – CYP leaders are committed to maintaining and growing their Christian faith
- Execution – CYP leaders take personal ownership for delivering CYP initiatives and growing CYP as an organization
- Reliability – CYP leaders follow through on their commitments, especially by attending leadership meetings and completing action items on time
- Capacity – CYP leaders have the availability to commit to serve 2-5 hours per month
- Career Stability – CYP leaders have a track record of employment success and serve as a positive and mature professional example to others
- Intentional Relationships – CYP leaders invest in relationships with other CYP members
- Collaboration – CYP leaders take initiative for working well with others
CYP Leader Commitments
- To honor God with our faith (e.g. seek God, spend time with Him, invest in Christian community)
- To honor God with our career (e.g. work “heartily unto the Lord,” set a good example and have a positive influence in the workplace and seek God in career direction and decisions)
- To honor God with our lifestyle (e.g. commitments, associations, personal relationships, sexuality, etc.)
- To honor the CYP community (e.g. have a servant’s heart and positive influence on each person who participates in CYP)
- To honor the CYP leaders (e.g. work toward each other’s success within and beyond CYP, speak well about each other, attempt to resolve conflict quickly and positively)
